Nature's Mighty Bites

Fats are really important too. Once you have balanced your protein and carbohydrate portions, the next thing to do is add the fat. There are two types of good fats, monounsaturated and long-chain Omega-3 fats. Monounsaturated fats come from olive oil, selected nuts and avocados. Long- chain omega -3 fats come from fish and fish oils. There are really bad fats that you want to stay away from. These are saturated fats, trans fats, and arachidonic acid. Whenever you see the words "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil" you know it is a bad fat. If rabbits have arachidonic acid injected into them, they will die in three minutes. This fat with a really big name needs to be eliminated from your diet.
